Press Release #022916(23)-Police Make Arrest for Aggravated Assault after Stabbing Investigation

aTwenty Five year old Nathaniel Gamez was arrested over the weekend for Aggravated Assault with a Deadly weapon after knife attack.

On Saturday February 27, 2016 at 9:25 pm, San Angelo Police were dispatched to the 1600 block of Austin Street for a Stabbing. Officers arrived and made contact with a witness and the victim, Carlos Hernandez. Hernandez had been attacked with a knife and was in need of medical attention. Officers provided first-aid to Hernandez until members of the San Angelo Fire Department arrived on scene. Hernandez was transported by ambulance to Shannon Medical Center for treatment of his injuries. Hernandez's current condition is unknown but it was believed at the time the injuries were not life threatening.

During the investigation Officers located the suspect, Gamez, in an apartment at the Capri Apartments, 602 W Avenue M. Detective Adrian Castro was contacted and responded to the scene to continue the investigation. It was learned through the investigation Gamez had gone to Hernandez's residence and slashed the tires of a vehicle belonging to Hernandez. Hernandez went outside and confronted Gamez. Gamez attacked Hernandez with the knife causing him injury. Hernandez stated after he was attacked Gamez threatened to kill his family.

Hernandez went into his house and retrieved a machete in order to protect himself and his family. Gamez was already gone when Hernandez went back outside. Hernandez was aware Gamez lives at the Capri Apartments and went there to find Gamez. When Hernandez got to Gamez's apartment, there were other people there so he left and went to call the police.

At the conclusion of the investigation, Gamez was arrested for Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon.

This incident is still under investigation and additional charges may be forthcoming.


Press Release #022616(22)-San Angelo Man Arrested for Evading on Foot after being located by K-9

Last night, a San Angelo man, 31 year old Curby St Mary, was arrested for outstanding warrants and Evading Arrest or Detention on Foot after fleeing from a traffic stop.

At 11:42 pm last night, Officer P Garrett made a traffic stop near the intersection of E Avenue I and S Oakes Street on a gold colored 2001 Oldsmobile Alero for an improper right turn. As the vehicle stopped, the front passenger, St Mary, fled on foot. Patrol Officers set up a perimeter in the direction St Mary was last seen running. Officer J Fisher and his Police Service Dog (PSD) Thor responded to track where St Mary fled.

PSD Thor led Officers to a house in the 1300 block of Duggan St where Officers located St Mary hiding in the backyard. St Mary was found to have outstanding warrants.

St Mary was transported to the Tom Green County jail where he was charged with his outstanding warrants and Evading Arrest or Detention on Foot. Another passenger in the vehicle, 18 year old Surena Rojas, was also found to have outstanding warrants and was arrested as well. The driver, 34 year old Jonas Huereca was given a warning for the improper right turn and released at the scene.


Press Release #022416(21)-San Angelo Man Arrested for Burglary

A 34-year-old San Angelo man wanted in connection with a Burglary at a local lumberyard has been arrested.
Stephen Ross Bradley became a person of interest in connection with a Burglary that occurred at City Lumber and Wholesale January 27, 2016 where over $5,000 in tools and a company pickup truck were stolen.
After a lengthy investigation, Criminal Investigations Detective Michael Gaeta obtained an Arrest Warrant for Bradley for State Jail Felony Burglary of a Building. Bradley was located and arrested February 22 from a residence in the 200 block of Montague Street.
Some of the stolen property has since been located and returned. The stolen truck, a 2009 Ford F150, was located at the Christoval Estates Trailer Park on January 27. The vehicle was seized, processed for evidence, and released back to City Lumber staff.

Press Release #022416(20)-Police Arrest Second Suspect from Marshall?s Parking Lot Robbery

The second suspect wanted in connection to the recent Robbery in the Marshall's store parking lot that left a 40-year-old woman injured has been arrested.
18-year-old Desmond Joshua Dixon was arrested at approximately 7:35 p.m. last night in the 1500 block of S. Bell Street without incident. He was located after Officers recognized a vehicle he was associated with parked in the parking lot. Dixon was transported to the Tom Green County Jail and booked on several outstanding Arrest Warrants.
Dixon's co-actor in the Robbery, Bentley Green, was apprehended yesterday.

Press Release #022316(19)-Police Obtain Arrest Warrants for Robbery Suspects

Detectives with the San Angelo Police Department's Criminal Investigations Division have obtained Arrest Warrants for two 18-year-old San Angelo men, Desmond Joshua Dixon and Bentley Green for their role in a Robbery that occurred just before 4:00 p.m. in the Marshall's parking lot, 4001 Sunset Drive on February 17, 2016.
Police were called to the location last Wednesday to investigate the report of a vehicle burglary turned robbery. When they arrived, they located a 40-year-old female victim who was suffering from apparent minor injuries she received when she was struck by the suspect's vehicle. San Angelo Fire Department Medics responded and treated the victim at the scene.
The victim told Officers she left Marshall's and discovered an unknown man burglarizing her vehicle. After she confronted the suspect, the man reportedly ran off and got into a nearby red/maroon-colored Honda passenger car that was being driven by another man. The vehicle then struck the victim as it fled the parking lot. Witnesses at the scene confirmed the victim's story and reported the suspect vehicle was last seen headed towards the Target shopping center.
Investigators later developed Dixon and Green as persons of interest and recovered some of the victim's stolen property. Subsequent to the investigation, Investigators applied for Arrest Warrants for the pair.
At approximately 12:30 this afternoon, Police located Green at a residence in the 2500 block of N. Van Buren. He was taken into custody without incident and charged with Robbery and another outstanding Warrant.
