Vehicle Pursuit Leads to Arrest

San Angelo, TX (November 4th, 2023, 4:06am): One male and one female were taken into custody early Saturday morning after a lengthy vehicle pursuit in North San Angelo. Edward Crisp (32yoa) and Ashley Perez (35yoa) were charged with multiple offenses in relation to this incident.

Officers were dispatched to the 3100 block of Travis Street in reference to a suspicious vehicle. Officers located the suspicious vehicle (Black Chevrolet Tahoe) in the 300 block of East 32nd street and attempted to conduct a traffic stop on it. The driver (Edward Crisp) fled from the traffic stop and led Officers on a vehicle pursuit throughout the Northside of town.

The pursuit was terminated for safety reasons after officers observed Crisp driving on Sherwood Way at a high rate of speed without his lights on.

Crisp was later located by officers near the intersection of Loop 306 and College Hills after his vehicle experienced some type of mechanical failure. Officers took Crisp into custody, and he was charged with listed offenses.

The passenger (Ashley Perez) was found to have a County Warrant for her arrest, and she was taken into custody as well. No private or City owned property was damaged during the course of this pursuit.
