San Angelo Police Investigate Stabbing at Quadrangle Apartment

A 31-year-old San Angelo man was arrested in connection to a stabbing that occurred this afternoon at the Quadrangle Apartments, 3425 YMCA Drive. 

Police were dispatched to the complex at approximately 4:46 p.m., initially for the report of a fight in progress.  Officers arrived and located a 35-year-old man who was suffering from an apparent stab wound.  The man was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries. 

The suspect, identified as Christopher Wheeler, fled the scene prior to Officer arrival.  Responding units searched the area and Wheeler was located walking near Knickerbocker Road and Johnson Street.  

The Department’s Criminal Investigations Division and K9 Unit also responded to the scene.  A preliminary investigation revealed Wheeler and the victim were engaged in an altercation when at some point, Wheeler obtained a knife and stabbed the victim. 

Wheeler was transported to the Tom Green County Jail and charged with  Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon.  

The suspect and victim reside together.
