San Angelo Public Safety Communications Center Seeks Volunteers

San Angelo Public Safety Communications (SAPSC) is looking for highly dedicated individuals to volunteer in our Public Safety Communications Center (Dispatch).  

Volunteers will have the opportunity to support the community while furthering the mission of San Angelo Public Safety Communications, which is to provide a quality and professional communications link between the citizens we serve and the public safety agencies who respond.  SAPSC is located at 323 E. Beauregard in San Angelo, Texas.  They are the answering point for all 911 Emergency calls made within Tom Green County.  Their staff consists of highly skilled and motivated personnel who perform dispatch services for Police, Fire, and Ambulance services. 

Applicants must pass a dispatcher exam and a typing test of 35 WPM before an application will be accepted.  The test is administered at City Hall, Human Resources, 2nd floor, 72 W. College Ave., San Angelo, TX 76903.  City Hall hours are Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - noon, and 1:00 pm - 5:00 pm.  

Applicants must not have any Felony convictions or any Class A or B Misdemeanor convictions in the last ten years.  Applicants must pass a background check and may be subject to a polygraph examination.  Volunteers will undergo comprehensive, in-depth training and will be expected to volunteer a minimum of 20 hours per month.
