Press Release #071414(05)-Police Arrest San Angelo Man for Meth after Responding to Assault Call

A 30-year-old San Angelo man was arrested for drug possession late Friday night after police were called to investigate an assault in progress.

 

On July 11, 2014, just after 9:30 p.m., San Angelo Police were dispatched to the area of Dallas and Van Buren Streets for the report of a man assaulting a female while walking near the roadway.  While enroute to the call, police received additional information that the parties were walking towards the Dollar General Store.

 

Upon arrival, police located a male and female who matched the description of the suspect and victim, walking near the 1800 block of Freeland Street.  Police spoke with the alleged victim, a 24-year-old San Angelo resident, and she denied the assault.

 

During a the field investigation, police learned that the male suspect, identified as Jimmy Carrasco, Jr. (DOB 01-17-84) was found to be in possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.   

 

Carrasco was subsequently charged with Felony 3 Possession of a Controlled Substance Penalty Group 1 and transported to the Tom Green County Jail.
