Press Release #041516(05)-Police Investigate Shots Fired Call in Northeast San Angelo

On Thursday April 14, 2016, just before 3:00 p.m., San Angelo Police Officers responded to reports of gunfire in the area of E. 18th and Oakes Street.
Responding Officers were directed to a residence in the 700 block of E. 18th where they located evidence that gunfire penetrated the residence but did not injure any of the occupants. A dog that was outside the residence and struck by the gunfire was later euthanized at the scene by an Animal Control Officer.
Detectives with the San Angelo Police department's Criminal Investigations Division responded to the scene and determined an unknown person(s) fired shots towards the residence and then fled the scene in an SUV type vehicle.

Investigators believe the incident is not random and may be gang related. This is an ongoing investigation and no other information can be released at this time.
