Just before 10:15 p.m. on Wednesday, January 10, 2018, San Angelo Police were dispatched to the 1100 block of Cyndi Lane for vehicle burglaries in progress after a witness called to report several masked-subjects trying to enter multiple parked vehicles in the neighborhood.

Officers converged on the area and located one suspect inside a vehicle parked in the 1200 block of Cyndi Lane.  Upon seeing the Officers, the suspect ran and a brief foot pursuit ensued.  During the pursuit, the suspect began discarding items, to include sunglasses and a rifle magazine, from his pockets.  The suspect was apprehended a short time later and identified as Axel Blanco, 17, of San Angelo.

Responding Officers located two other subjects who had been with Blanco prior to his apprehension.  They were identified as Ryland D. Kimula, 17, and Sammy Torres, 19, both of San Angelo.

Subsequent to the lengthy field investigation, Police discovered the items Blanco discarded in the foot pursuit had been stolen from a nearby vehicle.  The items were returned to the owner.

Blanco was charged with Burglary of Vehicle and Evading Arrest Detention.  Kimula was charged with Burglary of Vehicle.  Torres was charged with Class B Misdemeanor Possession of Marijuana and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.  The group was transported to the Tom Green County Jail without incident.
