Local Man Caught Holding Drug Pipe During Traffic Stop Faces Narcotics Charges

Just after 12:00 a.m. this morning, San Angelo Police Conducted a traffic stop on the driver of a white 2002 Audi TT near Pulliam and Main Streets. 

During the initial contact, the driver was observed holding a pipe commonly used to smoke narcotics.  

The driver, identified as William C. Contreras, 51, was placed under arrest.  During a search of Contreras’s vehicle incident to his arrest, Officers located a quantity of suspected methamphetamine and Hydrocodone.    

Contreras was charged with First Degree Felony Manufacture Delivery of Controlled Substance Penalty Group 1, Possession of Controlled Substance Penalty Group 3 <28G, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.  Contreras was transported to the Tom Green County Jail without incident.
