Fatality Crash Investigation on Knickerbocker Road

UPDATE TO PRESS RELEASE: November 14, 2018 - At approximately 11:00 a.m., 21-year-old Brianna Lucas succumbed to her injuries.  Lucas was pronounced deceased by Shannon Medical Center Physicians.  


 

 

Just before midnight on Tuesday, November 13, 2018, San Angelo Police were dispatched to the 6000 block of Knickerbocker Road for the report of a single vehicle crash with injuries. 

Upon arrival, Officers located a dark-gray 2016 Ford Mustang down the embankment by the Packsaddle Bar-B-Que.  

The driver, identified as 23-year-old San Angelo resident Aaron Boatright, was located deceased inside the vehicle.  The front passenger, identified as 22-year-old San Angelo resident Christopher Pena, was transported to Shannon Medical Center for treatment of minor injuries and later released.  Boatright and Pena were wearing seatbelts. 

Two back seat passengers who were not belted in were ejected from the vehicle.  18-year-old San Angelo resident Adolfo Toriz was located deceased at the scene.   21-Year-old San Angelo resident Brianna Lucas was transported to Shannon Medical Center with incapacitating injuries.  

The preliminary crash investigation has shown the Mustang was southbound on Knickerbocker Road when it lost control and left the roadway at Red Bluff Road and traversed through Packsaddle’s parking lot where it struck a fiberglass street light.  Following the collision, the vehicle flipped and rolled several times before it came to rest on the embankment.  

Alcohol and speed are believed to be contributing factors to this crash.  Blood evidence was collected from Boatright.  Results are pending.  

This is an ongoing investigation and additional information will be released when it becomes available.
